Newport Tax Service was founded 70 years ago by Joe Statmiller, who built the business on honesty, accuracy, and genuine care for the people in our community. Over the decades, families and local businesses have trusted us to guide them through their taxes with clarity and respect.

A Legacy of Service
Newport Tax Service was founded 70 years ago by Joseph J. Stadtmiller, a WWII U.S. Army veteran, former IRS Special Agent, and dedicated community member. Joe spent 61 years building this business into a trusted local tax office known for honesty, accuracy, and genuine care for the people of Northern Kentucky.
Joe passed away in 2018 at the age of 96, but the values he established continue to guide Newport Tax Service today. His commitment to serving families, workers, and small businesses shaped the reputation we still uphold. Joe was deeply involved in the community — a member of the Newport Elks, the Alexandria VFW, an Honorary Lifetime Knight of Columbus, and a Kentucky Colonel. His life reflected service, integrity, and connection.
Throughout the decades, Newport Tax Service has overcome challenges, including two fires, and each time the business rebuilt stronger. That resilience is part of our identity. Nearly seven decades later, we remain proud to carry forward Joe’s legacy by providing dependable, respectful, community‑focused tax services to the neighbors he cared so much about.
